Real Time Recording Over MIDI-Keyboard


You find the button "Record" in the toolbar left below.


Position the cursor in the score, at the place from which should be recorded.


If you click at the corresponding button, the metronome begins to "tick" (metronome is set on MIDI-canal 10).


The picture on the button alters to ().


After the metronome pre-count of two bars (depends of default settings), recording session begins.


You can recognize this that the picture alters to () again.


In order to stop the recording session, you click again on the same button (this goes only after pre-count).


If the music you intend to record should be played in polyphonically, so you must keep an eye firstly that the selected line is a main-line, in which already several sub-voices are defined.


Furthermore, the voice-group cannot be opened. It became an "Instrument-group represented with button (Icon), so that all voices possess an independent line, is picked up in each of these lines only homophonous. Therefore click on button (Icon) again in order to merge (reunite) the voices.


Then is a more "polyphonic" recording possible.


In the menu MIDI real time recording settings you can make statements to the pre-counting and to the quantization.


Reference: In order to be able to use this function, you need a sound-card, which can process the detailed MIDI-signal . Furthermore, a matching driver must be installed, that must be choosen under "Midi IN" from MIDI / matching Device in Octava.
