The Principle < Mark And Work On>

Almost all work steps take place for the user after the same scheme.

One first marks what one wants to work on and then one carries out a processing step.

There are two forms of markings. On the one hand individual markings for notes and symbols and on the other hand block markings for areas.

A processing refers to a single sign (like e.g. a note) or to a block (like e.g. a phrase or complete bar), a singles or a block marking must be carried out depending on this, whether.

Individual marking:

By a clicking with the mouse one marks the appropriate place one wants to work on.

If one selects a note or rest, then the cursor is positioned in front of these. If one selects a Symbol, then this will provide with a black background to make a marking clear.

You can position the cursor to the desired position also by a navigation with the arrow or Tab buttons. The following note is then highlighted.

Block marking:

If a block should be marked, then one clicks into the left upper corner of the area to be marked and draws the block at a depressed left mouse button into the right lower corner of the area to be marked.

(As it is also made in other standard programs)

One can alternatively produce a block with the arrow buttons at simultaneously depressed Shift button.

The block can also go over several voices, lines or systems!

To mark big areas of a voice, it can make sense to change to the individual voice (part) mode or to reduce the Zoom. With the commands "set block beginning" (F7) and " block end" (F8) in the menu" work "  you have another possibility to mark blocks which goes over several pages and voices.

If a marking is done now, then a processing step can be carried out with a click on a tool button or with a corresponding key-stroke combination.

Attention: Unlike the musical notation, inclusive of the local symbols (slurs, dynamics ...), global symbols (repetition sign, tempo, key, time signature ...) are never mentioned about block markings.

The chord tunes marking

Single chord tunes have to be marked by clicking on the chord repeatedly.
